Lanolin separators are used for extracting oil and fat from wool-washing waste water and obtaining relatively pure lanolin and meanwhile reducing the cost of waste water treatment.

 

 Lanolin is a secreted oil attached to wool. The main component is esters produced by sterols, fatty alcohols and triterpene alcohols and approximately the same amount of fatty acids, accounting for about 95%, and it also contains free alcohol 4% , And a small amount of free fatty acids and hydrocarbons. White or light yellow to dark brown paste-like translucent body, smelly and anhydrous. The relative density is 0.946. The softening point is 38~44ºC. Acid value <1.0 mgKOH/g. The saponification value is 92~106 mgKOH/g. The iodine value is about 18~36 mgKOH/g. Mainly higher alcohols and esters. In industrial lanolin, the ester content is about 94%, free alcohol 4%, free acid 1%, and hydrocarbon 1%. Among the esters, non-hydroxy esters account for about 60%, and hydroxy esters account for about 40% (mainly α-hydroxy).

Disc centrifuge working principle

FIVEMEN Disc centrifuge is a centrifugal separator which can separate solid matter from two kinds of different density liquids on a continuous basis and also to separate two liquids simultaneously. By reducing process cycle time and labor requirements, these separators offer high cost efficiency in liquid clarification and reclamation, solid-liquid separation and its classification, recovery and thickening of solids and in other such processes.

Application Occasion

 It is widely used in lanolin sludge's separation, to separate the 4% lanolin with some solid mixture to extract lanolin and recycle some water. It is also applicable to some similar material's separation, like palm oil.
