Product Description |
Disc separator is a vertical centrifuge. Drum installed on the upper end of vertical shaft, drive by a motor through a transmission device and high-speed rotation. There is a set of nested with each other together of the disc parts-disc in the drum. The small gap is left between disc and disc. Suspension (or emulsion) enters into drum through the feeding tube of the centre of drum. When the suspension (or emulsion) is going through the gap between the discs, solid particles (or droplets) sink down the disc and form sediment (or the liquid layer) in the effect of the centrifuge. Sediment slides along the surface of the disc, is out of the disc and accumulates in the part of the largest diameter of the drum. Liquid after separation discharge out of the drum through the discharge port. The role of the disc is to reduce the settlement distance of the solid particles (or droplets), to expand the settlement area of the drum. Separator's capacity is greatly improved with installing discs. The solid accumulating in the drum is eliminated manually after the separator stop, or discharged out of drum through slag machine when the separator does not stop.
Disc separator can complete two operations: liquid-solid separation (low concentration slurry separation), said clarifying operation; liquid-liquid (or liquid-liquid-solid) separation (emulsion separation), said separating operation. Disc separator with its compact, small footprint, high production capacity and other characteristics, is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, light industry, food, biological engineering, bacteria and transportation.

The indissoluble liquids and solids with different densities will be separated while they are rotated at a high speed in the bowl, where the particles with heavier density move to the inside wall of bowl body, the lighter liquid toward the center of the bowl. Because the centrifugal force generated in the centrifuge fields in much larger than the gravity force, it takes only very short time for the centrifuge separation to achieve the same separation efficiency in the gravity fields. Especially when the gravity separation cannot be available, the best method is used with centrifuge separation.
There is a stack of discs installed in the bowl, which divide the bowl space into many conical cavities. That can shorten the sedimentation distance and improve the separation efficiency.
The moving trace of the limit particle "C" occurs between the discs (conical cavity).
Any limit particle between A and B can be separated if it reaches the inner surface of discs
